DISPLAY AND DISCUSS CURRENT OR FUTURE PROJECTS

This is the place to show off your current or future projects for you scoot. If it is an engine swap, some mod details, or even a full rebuild, let us know. Pictures and description can be sent to hvsc@live.com so I can post them up here for all to see.

Jason's Femsa Rally 200 rebuild

(3/17)Installed the needle bearings (finally) on the xmas tree last night. Turned out to be a 21 needle set up instead of the 23 they sent to me. Now I could finally set the xmas shaft in place, followed by the gear shaft. Cruciform is brand new so nice and tight on shifting. Tonight will set the clutch side seal, and possibly press her together.
(3/23) Took a little work to merge them together with all the new gears, but with a few taps of a hammer it set in smooth. Rebuilt the clutch and have it soaking in some SAE 30 overnight to prep the plates. Tonight I will put on the carb box, and the piston/cylinder. Sent the stator off to a rally guy on the mainland so will need to wait for that until final set up.
(3/24)Rebuilt the carb, attached the carb box. Installed the clutch. Installed cylinders studs, cylinder, piston, head. All mechanical pieces are assembled, just waiting on the stator.

Karim's  '62 Vespa Crank Change

After our long and hard ride on March 22nd, Karim had a bit of trouble with his VBB. Turned out to be an airleak on the flyside, as well as a warped crank. He decide to split it open, drop in new crank and bearings, and finish it up with fresh gaskets and seals. Now it is good as new, ready to hit the open road for many more years to come!

Katie's  '65 GL Seal Change

The lady of many Vespas recently repaired an air leak in her Vespa GL. We all know how great this scoot is and how rare they are on this island. Her problem started out with intermittent throttle swells, which are not a good thing, and a sure sign of an airleak. For the fix she put on some brand new gaskets and changed the crank seals.

Karim's Full Bodied Restoration

Karim recently completed a full nut and bolt restoration on a Vespa Super that had a wee bit of scuffs. So took the two tone job and turned it into a prime example . New seats, new paint, new ....everything. Looks like it just came of a showroom floor! Good work Karim
